As part of Project 365 (my take on it), I’m posting 300 words a day. My theme for 2012 is “life is beautiful”. This year I’m focusing on taking things one step at a time. I want to savor and enjoy life. I want to experience the calmness of a single breath. I want to touch, smell, taste, hear, and see with clarity, openness, newness, sensitivity, and pleasure. I want to respect my body so that it will respect me back. I’m a vehicle for change, a purposeful person. One letter/word/sentence/paragraph/page at a time. 300 words a day can change a life. One life can change many lives. According to The Art of Non-conformity, the two most important questions in the universe are:
“What do you really want to get out of life?”
“What can you offer the world that no one else can?”
Woah. Good questions. My gut feeling is that what I want out of life is to be great and do great things. That should set the bar suitably high. And what can I offer that no one else can? My creativity and mad genius (obviously it’s not humility that I’m serving up).
Humility is actually a part of my personal motto, but not the kind of false humility that people generally think of. It means knowing my strengths and weakness, seeking the truth at all times, accepting life for what it is, and doing the best I can with what I have in every moment.
I’m getting tired and this post is getting rambly. I’ve basically spent my 300 words on ways of describing how to stop and smell the roses.
Life is beautiful because we get to choose what to make of it. We can choose whether life is friend, foe, or Switzerland.
I’ll end this post by plugging my brand new webcomic: Clothian Chronicles. Please check it out!
