I’ve always felt a calling to be a leader, but I’ve wondered, “How do you become one?” I’ve learned that there are different kinds of leaders, and there’s a difference between having the title of leader and actually being one.
It starts with having a powerful calling and desire to be in the lead, rather than lost in the crowd. Leadership is transcendent, because there’s a higher ideal or bigger cause that one follows. So being a leader is also the same as being a follower, except a leader is following something greater than him or herself.
There’s the kind of leadership given to you by society, which could be called outside-in, or position, and there’s leadership that comes from inside-out, which I consider wisdom. I prefer the inner wisdom kind of leadership.
