Perhaps it’s not a bad thing to form a callous over the heart; not to have a hardened heart, but one that can sustain us. A healthy and passionate heart is one that pulses with life, but not one that’s bleeding all over the place. A strong heart maintains integrity.
There’s an invisible wall between the mundane and the magical. The wall is a well placed illusion, and there’s a reason it’s a mystery (because you’re meant to find it for yourself).
The great treasure of life is true self-worth, and once it’s found, all lies dissolve.
How many people before me have watched the sun come up every morning? I want to be like the steady sun; sometimes cloud covered, sometimes standing alone. Let all of the myriad thoughts and emotions fall in line as planets around an inner source of light.
Being able to see clearly is a great advantage. If I were to sum up what it was all about these past couple of years, I’d say clarity. Mental sharpness and emotional clarity came from it.
The mind is like an infinitely sharp knife. If we were to use such a knife, we’d want to focus on what we were doing. That’s my approach to the way I use my thoughts.
Every day we get to check our map to see if we’re headed in the right direction. We’ll go on many adventures and face many challenges on this journey, but that’s the whole purpose. Life is an odyssey, and we’re on our way home.
Thanks for joining me for another Emotions Week article! After yesterday’s article about understanding negative emotions, I’ve been looking forward to writing about positive emotions, because that’s what we’re all here for, after all; to feel good!
Understanding positive emotions will really get you to see the magic in your life. An important thing to understand is that emotion is our perception of energy in motion, and that there’s only one energy that flows through all things. This source energy is the energy that flowed out from the Big Bang, or when God said “let there be light”, and is the life-force that flows throughout all of creation and nature, so you could say there’s really only one emotion, and to the degree that we’re allowing this flow of energy, we feel good or bad.
The words you’ve just read may seem pretty basic and simplistic, but they hold the key to what we’re all looking for, which is to feel good. At the heart of all motivation is the drive to feel good, or the drive to not feel bad. Enlightenment is the realization that it’s all good. When you can see that everything that happens is always good, you’ve awakened from the illusion of separation.
Although there’s only one emotion – just like there’s only one light, one love, one being – our minds act as prisms that divide emotions into a spectrum, like colors. Looked at in this way, you can see that there are no undesirable emotions, just like there are no undesirable colors. Each person is an artist and a creator of their own reality. How much of which color or emotion we want to put into the painting of our life is up to us.
The only thing that can ever really go wrong, even though ultimately it’s still good, is that we remain stuck in the illusion of separation and resist and push against our own undeniable well-being, and forget the eternal nature of our spirit. This creates suffering, and eventually we will wake up from the nightmare.
Deciding that today, you’re going to do your very best to feel good, that you’re going to follow your bliss no matter what, is the best thing you can do for the world.
